Since we're talking about favorite ponies, who's your favorite villain?

I'd have to say the Diamond Dogs. They weren't as cool as Nightmare Moon or Discord, but they were the only competent villains.

That's the one who's not in sync with the other's, isn't it? Yeah, they're funny.

On the last page, I said AJ might turn into Yosemite Sam (or Bill Murrey's character in Cadyshack) if she couldn't beat the gopher.

Yeah, the Diamond Dogs were hilarious. I'd love to see an episode where they make an attempt at going straight and get jobs on Sweet Apple Acres, but they just suck at everything. Then they end up working for Pinkie's family on the rock farm.

Yeah, Caddyshack was the first thing that came to mind when the gopher was mentioned. That's another great idea, although there'd have to be some justification why Fluttershy can't come over and help.

Yeah, that one. It just is real funny to me that one of the heads lags behind the others, or has a slightly different personality, and all that.

x5 Discord was good, and I liked how he was smart enough to "check" that Twilight had been defeated. I don't think he had the Idiot Ball at the end, he just didn't think Twilight was possible to get the Mane 6 back to normal. He's god tier though, and the DD were nearly as effective.

Not sure if she technically qualifies as a villain moreso than she does as a mere jerk, but Gilda is a personal fave of mine.

She's an antagonist. Gilda's also a fav of mine.

I don't think it was quite an Idiot Ball. More like an Arrogance Ball, if such a trope existed.

Why not merge the two plots? Applejack finally fires them when they attempt to catch the gopher, but wreck a field in the process.

...Maybe not.

I'm imagining a scene where she tries to convert their plow into a tunneling contraption of some sort, maybe get Big Mac to push it in pursuit of the gopher.

@Ginger: Well, yeah. That would be the source of the moral: Think your actions through a bit, maybe. A joke is all well and good, but it can really hurt someone if you don't watch it.

After all, both Dash and Pinkie have shown to be pretty impuslive.

As for villains, I still gotta give my love to Trixie. I love th Weak But Skilled trope, which I always attribute to her, and whenever she comes on it's all just Ham Ham Ham Ham Ham. I love all her haughty expressions, especially her little eyeborw when she's drinking her slurpie.

x5 I only consider characters villains if they were purposely trying to harm/annoy the mane cast and knew what they were doing.

Gilda isn't "bad" enough to be up there with the DD or NM, but she's on the same tier as Trixie.

x 5 That would be a good idea I think. If Dash and Pinkie hurt AJ's feelings so badly that it causes a rift, and they need to her earn forgiveness, that could be some great character development right there.

Nobody screws with Fluttershy. The only reason she didn't destroy Gilda is because the family of ducks was there.

I find the Diamond Dogs' voices to be like fingernails on a chalkboard. That's probably the reason why I seldom watch that episode.

It's ironic that the Dogs constantly complained about Rarity's voice.

They are a bit annoying, but I can get over that. I like the line where the main Diamond Dog (Rover) says "oh, for goodness' sake" and it sounds like he's going to say the f word.
