@Suland No official announcements, but cryptic hints and the fact that they're still hiring writers long after writing on Season 3 has ended indicates that it is almost certainly going to happen.

Ah, but seeing as this is a merchandise driven show, so long as it keeps its ratings and sells toys etc, it will continue. That's just good business sense.

I'd rather a premature cancellation, than have it become the next Simpsons, ...frankly after the 4th season, ...just about every show starts to look old and stale, ...no exceptions.

It's at that point the writers not only seemed to have run out of ideas, but seem to be repeating themselves or derailing.

No! Better it be Too Good to Last than become a Franchise Zombie.

My hope is that after maybe Season 5, ..they'll make new a generation, same push-the-limits, "girls aren't idiots" mantra, ...but with new characters and premises.

Fi M doesn't deserve to become a Franchise Zombie.

@suland: How popular was G.I. Joe Renegades compared to other shows? How much merchandise was it pushing?

I can assure you that it is probably not the same situation that Fi M has. I am expecting at least one or two more seasons.

Firefly wasn't popular when it was cancelled. It was barely watched because it came on at random times, had it's airing schedule completely changed around arbitrarily (pretty big deal for a show based on character development) and got little-to-no advertisement.

It was only after it was cancelled that word of mouth spread and it became widely acclaimed.

Also there is proof of a fianancial report from DHX that Hasbro is still throwing money at them to fund more pony on EQ Daily :P
