@Psi No, most of AJ's flawed moments are definitely driven by her honesty. She makes a promise, and she does everything in her power to keep it, and believes wholeheartedly that she can and will keep it. She refuses to be made a liar by her own shortcomings.
In this week they go with opposite approach. No clips, screens, spoilers, leaks, even title is keep in secret.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
I think the real problem is that we are expecting the Elements to have a large effect on the show (something Lauren may have been expecting as well) when ultimately. . .they don't.
They form the absolute core of the characters, and in a character driven show, that is a massive effect. They don't have to be mentioned and used all the time to be a factor.
It's nothing but AJ goodness for the next two weeks, ...I do hope the next one is either a Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy or believe it or not, Rarity episode.
I don't have an Avatar,
You gotta DEAL with it!
And now Rarity is the new AJ.
I don't have an Avatar,

I disagree, Fancy played a strong second to Rarity's presence.
You guys are exaggerating. Any episode in which a character is developed is a good episode of focus for them. You can't tell me that just because Fancy Pants was in Sweet and Elite that the episode suddenly became about him and that Rarity wasn't developed at all, can you?
No he hasn't. Neither has Chris Savino.
EDIT: Scratch that last part Cindy Morrow wrote Sisterhooves Social.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
Are those really tattoos, or just painted on?
Yeah, Applejack's flawed moments come from her doing her absolute
utmost to be honorable and keep her word. I do believe I've compared her to an idealized samurai in the past.
I think one of the reasons I like both her and Rarity so much is how much they clearly want to be good people. Applejack is just more successful at that, to the point that her need to keep her word becomes a bit of a problem on occasion.
I have a message from another time...
AJ's real vice is that she never backs down from a challenge, and she's even more stubborn about it than Dashie.
Honestly, I think that the main issue people seem to be having is that Loyalty and Honesty are closely tied as virtues. The thing is, though, is so are the likes of Generosity and Kindness. Everything is all part of the same whole, and those parts are not mutually exclusive from each other.
And she doesn't understand, not being able to keep a promise you fully intended to keep when it was made, does not make you a liar.
