@Irish {{Mulan Be a man! As swift as a coursing river! Be a man! With the force of a great typhoon! Be a man! With the strength of a raging fire! Mysterious as the dark side of the moon!}}
That's how you motivate somepony... that is, if the lyrics didn't refer to humans.
Edit: Well horse feathers. I seem to have forgotten how to link tropes.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
@Ace: I think I just posted that on the last page myself. If you didn't read it, then did we come up with the same thought at nearly the same time?
Pink Sugar Heart Attack!
@JT - Hey, at least it will keep this thread going on. Maybe I can talk about the Canterlot Wedding again.
Speaking of which, this is from the Real Life section of
The Spartan Way:
For an interesting historical subversion you can't go past the Sacred Band of Thebes. A company of elites composed entirely of paired homosexual lovers, one older and one younger, who being thus bonded would theoretically have a lot more invested in keeping the soldier standing next to them alive and thus fight harder in their defense (and be more prone to berserking at the enemy's expense if their lover fell). And it worked. Not only were they one of the most feared companies in ancient Greece, but Thebes triumphed in the Battle of Leuctra over a larger force (5-7, 000 vs 10-11, 000) by use of a hitherto-unforeseen battle tactic, in which the Sacred Band were instrumental.
The enemy crushed and humiliated by the Sacred Band in this battle?
The Spartans.
Yes, they defeated The Spartan Way with
The Power of Love.
Yarr, POL be real.
By tomorrow, me or this mission, one of this shall be finished.
The dizzitron doesn't work that way. It always releases in a set location.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
I would imagine it works by letting it spin, then when the lever's pulled, something pops into place such that it stops the spinning, allowing it to release at the same point.
The culture of the city is one of advancement and cooperation, due to the unique mix of races inhabiting it, with magic and technology being developed and used for the purposes of accommodation and adaptation to citizens of any race that chooses to visit or take up residence there.
Don't forget the international banking district and abusrd property prices.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@Ace: It always releases at a certain angle.

Pretty much that.

Don't tell anypony, but I secretly AM a little pony.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
It's kind of a secret, but I really suck at keeping secrets!
Insert something witty that makes me better than all of you, here.
@Orion: Of course, that doesn't preclude the possibility of the dizzitron being miscalibrated...
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@JT: Well true, but do you think they wouldn't check the calibrations?
