I myself am just trying to work out if Batty would be considered 'hot'. Yes, he's big and muscular and has massive wings...but he also has weird looking cat like eyes and fangs. Oh, and odd looking tuffs on his ears.
Doesn't he have bat wings? That could just as easily be a turn-off.

I could see him getting attention from Nightmare Fetishists and mares who want a bad stallion (regardless of his character—ponies tend to assume he's dangerous just because of his appearance, right?).
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

@Kalloon - An OC, created by presumably Applelight.

Well, it's hard to tell if he would be hot because he's a pony, and we're humans. So maybe you'll have to run on Informed Attractiveness or its inverse.

That's right. Bat wings could be seen as well, ugly.

@ librarian

Like...Fluttershy maybe? wink

EDIT:

Yeah, Aerobat (or 'Batty') is an OC of mine. A key character in my pony pirates story.

Maybe you could write it so Batty always gets a strong reaction from the mares—but whether they're attracted or revolted is a complete toss-up.
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

You're putting ideas in my head. wink

@ con

That trope explains it nicely!

@ meta

Good idea!

Most would be repelled...some (like a goth girl or...Fluttershy) would really like him!

Random thought.

Some people might think that Modern Warfare series is one of the biggest antithesis to MLP:FIM. For the most parts, I agree.

However, in all three games, it is the camaraderie and loyalty between the crews that ultimately allow them to defeat the main villains, one of whom even goes as far as to say "It doesn't take the most powerful nations on Earth to create the next global conflict; just the will, of a single man."

Yes, even in MW, friendship is magic.

Hey, I feel I could appreciate a small pair of wings just as well as a large pair!

Besides, the Empress of Blood and Roid Rage proved they are no impediment to flight.

One of the, if not the, oldest messages in human civilization.

Bros before hoes.

Almost all the oldest pieces of literature features friends and temptresses. The one who pick the latter tends to end badly.

If I did get superpowers, I'd probably use them primarily for Mundane Utility. Not that I wouldn't stop a mugger or whatever if I saw one on the street, but I'm not the type of guy to stalk around in back alleys looking for trouble.

In real life it would jsut get you killed anyway, unless your superpowers include Made Of Invincibility.

But Apple, how would Batty and Fluttershy kiss (if they ever want to) with Batty's fangs?

@Apple: That's actually an issue I'm dealing with in my current fanfic, Our Eminence. My basic theory on it is that the 'exotic' aspect of it makes them vaguely alluring, but at the same time the predatory features make them intimidating to most ponies(Being, you know, prey animals and all). So they're kind of attractive in a 'bad boy' sort of way, and if they hide the wings well enough they're kinda hot, and their predatory instincts make them confident, which is always sexy... but the moment they become to aggressive it slips over into being frightening. It's a very... odd sort of attraction, I guess.

Basically just look at the success of the Supernatural romance genre. Girls like guys that are mysterious and vaguely dangerous, but that doesn't stop them from being, well, vaguely dangerous.
