I tend to judge extremely fast compared to most. I'm still not sure if it means I got an eye for quality or are simply dumb for making conclusions on only a few minutes of footage.
That being said, I'm obviously not the target audience here, but it's got quality in heaps. I vaguely remember watching the older cartoons with my sister and liking it (I was 4, or something), but watching footage from the time makes me want to shoot myself when I watch it today. That goes for many children's cartoons, both old and new (Though I especially enter a murderous rage as soon as the Smurfs theme song plays. In Dutch).
This doesn't make me want to shoot myself. While the subject matter is aimed and young children, it shows a certain degree of respect for their audience. Back in the day, it was all bright colours and squeaky voices spouting "friendship!", with absolutely no substance because apparently, that would go way over the heads of those dumb kids. This, on the other hand, actually has a sense of humour
* "holy shit, was that sarcasm? In MLP?" me, watching Twilight Sparkle dealing with her preperations
. They brought some talent on board that actually aimed to make a good cartoon within the restrictions of dealing with young children, and it shows.
TL;DR: Show's good, m'kay? And if it's good, it's good.

Calvin: I kind of resent the manufacturer's implicit assumption that this would amuse me.
