A lot of people are hoping that it's going to be a turtle out of irony, but I'm actually hoping that it's a hedgehog.

Hey, I think I get the turtle thing now: Is it a reference to the time Rainbow Dash had a water-squirting turtle toy?

I could see Rainbow Dash picking a pet that's a little too extreme for her, like a techno turtle, or a flying fish!

. I'd be inclined to write it off as just a recolor, but the fact that the cutie marks are identical combined with the fact that they're both musicians makes it quite easy to believe that it's Octavia with a dye job.

With Rainbow Dash's pet, I kinda like the idea of her ending up with a turtle or some other slow animal. Like she holds a race and the winner is her pet, and it ends up being a The Tortoise and the Hare kind of thing.

Surly there's another pony in Equestria with a treble clef cutie mark, look at all the ones with lyres and hour glasses! :P

I'm pretty sure there was a Lyra palette swap in "Lesson Zero", lyre cutiemark and all.

Yeah, but this has the added bonus of her still playing a stringed instrument (one that actually makes more sense with her Cutie Mark than the cello/bass), and there's actually an in-universe reason why she's a different color.

Also, it's just cooler to think that Octavia made a reappearance, and there's no evidence against it, so that's what I'm going with.

I guess Pinkie Pie turned part of her body yellow, but I can't think of any other instances.

^^Not that we've seen, but she's got the same hairstyle and the same cutie mark. It wouldn't be too hard to dye one's fur, I don't think.

Unfortunately, since Scratch would never dye her mane, we can say with certainty that she was not in this episode.

Maybe Discord got her. Nothing happened except she turned yellow, so she was left that way. Or maybe she got cornmeal poured on her.
