I wonder if Sleepless in Ponyville gives a new meaning to the phrase "Nightmare Moon". Has she been able to get into dreams the whole of the last millennium in her maddened state while on the moon?

I've never played the original game. I'm talking about Playstation All Stars.

Our alleyway, show it to me. I think I van get over my fanfic snobbery for it.

My current headcanon is that she's always had that ability, and possibly abused it as Nightmare Moon, but that it's not until recently that she's taken up this new duty and begun to use it properly. It solves her problem of never being around while her subjects are awake, allowing her to interact with them, assist them, and guide them in her own way, as well as allowing the ponies to come to appreciate her more outside of a single night each year.

So, the episode. I loved it.

Nice to see Rainbow Dash is still our lovable, if a bit dense and hypocritical, pony. Poor trees.

Sweetie Belle was adorable (as always) and Rarity was funny. The thing about the tent, alright I expected that. Its a common gag in cartoons. The bit about the vase? The chair? The turning your sister into a cart pony? Over the top, yes. Good for a chuckle? Yes as well.

This episode, I think, was also their episode at some level. The relationship between the two has really developed. Rarity was 'abusing' her sister's love for her but Sweetie Belle did too so all is good. Devious isn't she? Sweetie Belle's little devoted smiles as she pulled her and her sister's stuff was, in context of course, was a nice touch.

Also, we got another crazy pony moment from poor Scootaloo.

Luna didn't surprise me as I had a hunch we might catch a glimpse of her or at least a reference about her in an episode about nightmares. The extent of her involvement, however, did. I loved her here. She was all like, "Hey, you need to solve your shit or you're going to die a horrible, horrible death from exhaustion." I also love how Scootaloo just accepted it.

It makes sense though, especially in an episode about the relationships between sisters (or like sisters) and facing your fears about what others think of you.

Plus, nightmares, dreams, night stuff.

Applejack trolling Rainbowdash's story was good too.

Only complaint was that Applebloom didn't really do much during the trip. (She did set up the whole thing so I guess she deserved a break).

this may interest you. Especially, as I wasn't as big a fan of how Rarity and Sweetie Belle were handled.

I... Had my opinions on it.... Let's just say Sweetie deserves better and leave at that but hey, at least Rarity bothered go along the trip...

All I can say is that I don't think I reacted to it as badly as that.

I will admit that having watched the episode again, it's not as bad as I initially interpreted it, but I still feel like they took the easy way out by playing Rarity almost entirely for humor.

Sweetie's really got no one to blame but herself for that. Not that she seemed to care anyway.

Also obliviousness seems to be a widespread pony trait.

They probably could have done more. Though I thought the last little race at the end of the episode was nice.

I liked Rarity's outfit. And her reassuring cooing to Sweetie after the story.

Yeah, that was nice. I did kinda go "Really?" at some of Rarity's behaviour, but the sisterly moments helped a lot.
