Awww, that was a sweet episode! I loved the Luna part and where Applejack kept being logical with the story, and the Scootalove at the end! YAY!! I literally squeed out loud when they mentioned the Sonic Rainboom incident, too.

Luna might be going into ponies' dreams because she wants to help them enjoy her night, even while they're asleep, and if they're staying up out of fear or having nightmares, then they're not enjoying her night! Although if she did abuse that power by frightening ponies pre-banished to the Moon time, then that would be obvious where the whole "Nightmare Moon" name came from. Maybe her helping ponies with their nightmares is her way of making up for being so frightening earlier?

Re: RD's big sister abilities: I just want to point out that being a good occasional mentor to Scoots doesn't mean she'd have done a good job growing up with her. I could easily see a younger RD being a lot less enamored with having a little sister hanger-on.
