Their relationship is much more meaningful if Twilight raised Spike. Her family could have chipped in if she was too young.

Re: Spike raising. I sort of go down the middle. I seriously doubt that filly Twilight would be capable of raising a dragon on her own, so Celestia definitely contributed. Twilight always seemed to me like a big sister figure with strong maternal instincts. On the other hand, I doubt he was raised exclusively by Celestia either; Twilight probably helped care for him as a baby.

O_O Now I regret having looked at that...

Unlike on the road, there's not much to crash into in the sky though. It just reduces the number of stunts she can do safely. Though she crashes half the time anyway.

Anyway, back to the Spike and Twilight thing. Here's an interesting take on it.

Ok fine, you used to change your avatar all the time. Also, I see Librarian and Purple Dalek have new avatars.

So the likelihood of crashing is less, but the results of a crash are liable to be much worse.

I just don't really see much of a mother-son relationship with them more than I see a much old sibling looking out for her little brother. Considering how young Twilight was when he hatched, it's more like they were raised together than Twilight raised Spike.

Yeah, Twilight as Spike's surrogate mother can be cute in fan works, but I don't think it makes much sense in canon.

While Twilight actually being Spike's biological mother vaguely creeps me out.

How much worse can it be than what already happens in the show? Anyway, she just has to fly higher up.

@Story Flying up is the easy part. Landing safely is nigh impossible.

That reminds me. Something REALLY bad must have happened in Read It And Weep to actually hurt her for more than 2 seconds. What was she doing, trying to fly head first into the ground as fast as possible? Oh wait, it was her wing that got hurt. Somehow.

Best guess: The wings tend to be more fragile than the body due to having overall thinner bones. I'd say she either sideswiped something going pretty fast, or landed on the wing on a bad angle. Possibly both - sideswiped a tree causing her to spin out, so when she landed she tweaked the wing soemthing fierce.

@Crowlover: Funny you should say that, given that I preordered a copy of the Mlp Fim Season One along with two copy's of The Dark Knight Rises {The 2nd copy is a christmas present for a friend of mine}. That probably had something to do with it.

Also, I only have one thing to say about that stupid Pregenant Scootaloo tumblr. I actually really like the artstyle it has, but the content is just "Angst Drama Stupid OOC" {And this is coming from someone who actually likes the Blind RD tumblr. Make of that what you will}. I mean come on, how bland can you get?
