At least One Bad Apple had a good few of them going about as they pleased, so it's not like they're penned up or anything.

Pigs are sort of the philosophers of the mlp world. They don't say something unless they have something really important to say.

They have a term for it: From the mouths of babes.

Now I picture a Hog getting enraged because the pigs wont talk to him...thinking that they're looking down their snouts at him because they have a fancy trough and mud pit.

Pigs could all be Cynic philosophers. As wikipedia defines the Cynics:

Their philosophy was that the purpose of life was to live a life of Virtue in agreement with Nature. This meant rejecting all conventional desires for wealth, power, sex, and fame, and by living a simple life free from all possessions.

That would be running a punchline into the ground.

@Bad She was barely old enough to take responsibility for a pet, much less a baby dragon, when he was born. If it wasn't Celestia who raised him, then it would have been Twilight's parents.
