Well a snowplow would have its own weight and the weight of what you're plowing, I think. So maybe?

And updated my liveblog with some stuff that isn't Fallout Equestria.
Fanfiction I hate.

Considering that Twilight couldn't push the plow before she had even gotten any snow piled up in front of it, that can't be much of a factor.

-discussion of power levels-

Made an edit.

Also: A: What Badwolf says.

B: The ponies can easily make them heavier to deal with the punishment they're expected to take.

Also, bear in mind that Pound Cake has been able to bend steel since he was a month old. Easily.

Also, in Equestria, the butterflies have Super Strength. I'm not sure if they're stronger than the average human, but those butterflies are certainly much stronger than me.

Oh, come on. We already dropped the power level discussion hours ago. This is just whether or not they should be able to lift several tons under their own power.

Maybe it was a sucky plow?
Oh, the thread? Don't worry, it's just dead.

Twilight also once had an anvil, hay cart, and piano fall on her and walked away with fewer injuries than she had before. There are some aspects of the show that just don't warrant extended arguments.

@Sereg Being able to cartoonishly withstand physical punishment has nothing to do with how much someone can lift. Also, when did Pound Cake bend steel?

[up]Exactly. Literal interpretation of Cartoon Physics leads to wild inconsistencies and outright silly conclusions.

@Crowfall: A: Ponies are Made of Iron.

B: Healing magic.

Easy.

EDIT [up]Pound Cake bent (and smashed) the tap (I think you guys call it a faucet) of the bath when he was crying while Pinkie gave the twins too many toys.

EDIT: What's so silly about them? This stuff isn't even particularly impressive in fiction. In fact, it isn't even impressive compared to Discord. I don't think anyone seriously interprets Discord's power level as low wnough for this kind of stuff to even register.

He'd want to make it possible, but just barely. That way they'd be forced to let Rarity bring it along while making it as inconvenient as possible for everyone involved.

That's what I figured too. It's enchanted to be exactly as heavy as you can carry.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

there's also the notion of wondering if Tom even was as heavy as all that. Dash can turn on a dime at mach speeds. It's pretty much certain that physics don't work quite the same way.

And the fact, come to think of it, that Rarity was able to dig a chunk of rock out of the wall with her bare hooves, which are made of roughly the same materials as fingernail. IT may not have been terribly dense.

Yeesh. You people make it sound like you've never carried a ten ton boulder before. Like it's really that difficult.

There's a difference between breaking a loose tap (which I've seen kids do IRL, no super strength involved) and being able to bend solid steel. Plumbing isn't very solid.

The tap was bent. And as I said in my edit: This stuff isn't really impressive for fiction. At all. W Hy is it so hard to believe that ponies are naturally hundreds of times stronger and tougher than humans when other stories get away with characters that can juggle planets?

It is impressive for fiction when every single character apparently has superpowers that only seem to appear for visual gags and then vanish for the rest of the time. Was the jar of peanut butter in MMDW made of titanium or something? If ponies were that strong, Dash's efforts to open it would have shattered the jar. In Fall Weather Friends, Rainbow Dash should have been able to do what AJ did to the test of strength, and AJ should have obliterated it. Trixie should have been able to break rocks at the rock farm with her hooves, and wouldn't have needed a hammer. Rainbow Dash would have had to be going as simply ridiculous speeds to injure her wing when the g-forces from the Sonic Rainboom or getting it pinned under a boulder didn't do much of anything. I could go on, really. Sometimes, a visual gag is just a visual gag.

Nah, we've been much closer to unpleasant situations and come down from them. This thread has been around long enough that all the truly unreasonable people have either left or been... filtered out.
