[up]I personally think they still do, it's just that the weather is several orders of a magnitude more dangerous if the pegasi aren't running it. Their primary purpose in controlling the weather is to prevent Hurricane Sandy type disasters.

And Word Of God already confirmed that ponies can't grow plants in a vacuum, they still need everything the plant needs to grow it, they simply help it do so faster and better. (It was in regards to people saying EP's would be able to use their magic to keep growing food without sunlight during NMM's endless night.)

That just means they have to invent artificial sunlight.

It's also much more easier if you can plan around the weather. No more holidays being ruined by rain etc.

[up] They probably have a spell for that.

Weather management is just convenience. We get along just fine without managing the weather, but we'd jump on the any chance we could have, no doubt.

Except for some reason in Ticketmaster, they didnt' seem to be aware of the weather schedule.

They forgot to check the bulletin board in the town hall.

Yeah, I do think it makes more sense that ponies have simply controlled the weather so tightly that natural weather doesn't form in Equestria, not that they HAVE to do it because the weather wouldn't work otherwise.

[up] RD started the rain early so she could "save" twi from getting wet.

The weather schedule probably is pinned up in the town hall, though.

Being British, I would love it if humans could control the weather.

@Story: Rainbow Dash is the one doing the scheduling. I'm sure she botches it up on occasion.

I said natural evapouration doesn't happen. That said, Serphem's idea that it's merely natural cloud formation that doesn't happen is alo an intriguing possibility.

As for the number of plants, I think that each earth pony can generate a massive area of effect for their plant growth.

But yes. I recognise that this is just my interpretation. But I tend to interpret this kind of stuff very literally.

[up][up] Tell me about it. We don't get White Christmasses, we get Wet Christmasses.

So Trixie is no longer Twi's Arch-Nemesis. I wonder who's going to fill that void now.

Maximized Sunburst. Or just Daylight.

Stress.
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

and we know from LBYS that the weather ponies do goof up since the huge storm was to make up for missing a smaller one.

And from that, I gather it's actually the main weather factory HQ in Cloudsdle that does the scheduling, but it's still RD that organizes the weather patrol to get it done right in town.

Trixie was never Twilight's arch-nemesis. She was too small-fry for that. S He was closer to Rainbow Dash's arch-nemesis and even then it didn't fit. Twilight's nknownRival would be a better descripter. An actual arch-nemesis for Twi might be cool though.

Okay, this is really interesting. Don't really believe it, but it's certainly an intriguing theory.

[up][up]Yeah, if she had been a constant thorn in Twi's side, then you could say nemesis. 2 appearances don't really amount to much.

I expect that in her imagination, Trixie considered Twi her Nemesis. tongue

I want to see Trixie going on a haphazard journey to try and replicate Twilight. Step one: Obtain a dragon companion.
