Oh man...I was barred from taking out books for two weeks thanks to my suspension for non-payment of fees (the SLC screwed me over). This essay will probably just pass barely at best. sad

@Apple: all them ore reason I hope it goes well.

Is there any way you can talk to your professor, explain the situation to him? He might be willing to make a concession, especially since you still managed to give an essay despite the issues.

I can write a letter to the school committee explaining why it's so dire. My Professor has my back on this. He knows what happened.

Thanks for caring mate.

Edit: What score I get though will stick. So, I'm just going to cut my loses, and just try to do well on the test. A First Grade is now out of the question, but if I really try, I might be able to scrape a 2.1.

If your professor knows, hopefully he'll take that into account when he grades it. If he's fair, at least.

It really will be a bottom of the barrel job though I'm afraid. 42% at best. Sometimes...I think I'm too stupid to be a student. I'm 23. Most have either earned an MA or gone on to employment by my age. I've already failed once. I've never scored a First...ever, and I only ever got a 2.1 like, two times. And I'm about as fluent and articulate in writing as a brick. You can see it here. When's the last time I ever posted a thought provoking response to anything?

Ergh...I'm just going to focus on my comic for now, in between studying. Drawing is all I was ever good at.

Coincidently, I just found out that I got a good grade on my term paper.

You're more articulate than most people on the internet, Apple.

On an unrelated note, this is cool.

I can recognize most of those, but which one is Fry? The orange one in the middle?

Yeah. He's even got Fry's hair shape.
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

@Applelight; You aren't giving yourself enough credit. Academic writing and stuff can be very different from real world type things. Don't let it get you down.

Also, Zoidberg pony is hilarious looking.

@Dragon Quest being sexist: I saw it as just the opposite—the dragons represented macho guys who looked down on Spike, who represented the bronies (they specifically mocked him for being friends with the "pony princess"). The episode, to me, was basically saying that it's okay for men to like hanging out with girls and to do "girly" things. I suppose if anything, it paints traditionally macho masculinity in a bad light, in the case of the dragons, but it doesn't portray being tough in itself as a bad thing, but portrays the "being yourself, especially if it's seen as societally deviant" thing that Spike (the brony) does as being the stronger, tougher thing to do rather than trying to fit the gender stereotyped/species stereotyped expectations of others.

Which is probably the reason I really like that story, although the dragons' mocking laughter makes it difficult to watch at times for me.

I don't think they're supposed to represent bronies at all. They're just random male teenagers.

@story: Not the dragons, I meant that Spike was the one representing the bronies. The dragons represented (to me) those who would mock bronies for "not being masculine enough."

I don't think either of them were supposed to represent bronies.

I'm not fan of reading into stuff like that either, but this isn't the first time Spike had been used as an Audience Surrogate (see Ticket Master). Still not sure if that was the intent, but it's an interesting idea.

wild mass guessRainbow's theory is a WMGtonguewild mass guess

In all seriousness though i don't think that episode was sexist. I think the Aesop may be hypocritical at best. Any way do you think we'll see LawyerFriendlyCameos of g1 and g3 ponies soon? IDW's comics did sneak in a Firefly cameo and I'm pretty sure Starsong was seen in Sonic Rainboom. (She's the purple Palette Swap of Merry May/Flora)

yeah it was WAY the hell before bronies were a thing that was made so, impossible for him to be in that one.
