I was going to object to this since we never actually see show!Star Swirl, its like adding an entry for Moondancer... but now I don't know, there's a bunch of tropes there now and...

In the same way Derpy is one of the most popular characters I guess. But I digress, the build-up was getting to the point where it would have been even more painful than the supposed reaction. There are only so many facepalms one can take after all.

Celestia was there to see the changes over the years. If someone lived since 1900 and stopped aging at say, 30, he'd have a better understanding of the modern world than a 30-year-old in 1900 thrown into the year 2011.

She clearly doesn't HAVE to use it, but if she ever had to be intimidating for whatever reason, arguing with a God of Chaos for example, I could see it coming in handy.

@Dorku: Agreed. Pinkie Pie is annoying, but if she realizes she's being annoying, she'll knock it off. The problems in this episode stem from simply not realizing that the other ponies were actually scared on a night where everybody is pretending to be scared anyway. And given the way that Luna made her entrance, it really doesn't seem that unlikely that she just assumed Luna was trying to scare everypony, and reacted accordingly.

Oddly enough, the only character I really disliked was Luna, unfairly because of the fanon. BUT NOW SHE IS A GOOD PONY.

I found Pinkie annoying at first but she kind of grew on me. I can be absent minded too, but I'm not anywhere near being as friendly or perky as her.
