Speaking of Celestia's cake obsession, I got a chance to play Playstation All Stars last Thursday. I played as Fat Princess.

Upon reflection, I think it's rather telling that more people got up in a tizzy about Babs' redemption than Trixie's.

Or at least, more people got vocally upset.

Why so many images of Trixie as a stripper?

Well a lot of people have had real world experiences with bullies. Evil magicians, not so much.

Trixie had the justification of a mindwarping tricket. Otherwise I guess a lot of it applies more to whimsical bumbling villains being more lovable than somewhat realistic antagonists.

@Mio: Of... stuff?

I don't know! I don't know how to articulate it! It just bothers me that a kid that made a mistake gets more flak than a grown adult that takes out her problems on an entire town (even though she's just being influenced by a magical amulet)!

Well I'm impressed by the episode. I'm pretty sure we'll see her again. at least in the comics.

BTW Should I add my Sombra/Amulet guess to the WMG archive?

It helps Trixie didn't do an all out flip flop. The ending was rushed through to me, but Trixie's usual abrasiveness and pathos made it loveable. You know she didn't just instantly become a Nice Guy. Babs seemed a bit all over the place.

@Psi 001: I thought the justification of the amulet was fairly weak especially in light of the cold opening, but I guess what your saying does make sense towards how people reacted.

Still I found Babs redemption far more convincing then Trixie's.

Yeah. Odd how in her first episode, she grated on my nerves, but in this one, she's just a villain you love to hate since she's more developed.

I guess it's also the outcome, Trixie was forgiven but I doubt she'll become a respected friend now. She had a Pet the Dog moment but she'll probably continue being a pompous loser.

It reminds me more of how comical villains sometimes end up Friendly Enemy characters to the hero (eg. Daffy Duck or Elmer Fudd to Bugs Bunny).

[up]What I mean is her exit shows she has a good side, but she'll still be egotistical, and she'll still make an idiot of herself for it.

[up][up]A little, but not much. She probably still have her hammy ego, just not be an enemy towards Ponyville.

Though to be honest I think this is it for Trixie, at least for a long time.

I'm actually satisfied with that, to be honest.

I would be interested to see how they would use her in a later story though.

Would she be an ally or something of a more light hearted rival?

Even some One-Scene Wonder moments would be interesting to see in execution. Though yeah, probably best to space things out.

I'm guessing she'll be an ally if she comes back. Otherwise the ending would make little sense.
