The second half of this episode was kind of like that episode of The Fairly Oddparents with the do-over watch. Twilight made hers out to be better than Trixie's, causing Trixie to eventually steal the amulet to replace the old one with the "better" one, only to realize that it was useless.

I gotta wonder, though. What's Trixie going to do now? It's not like the incident is going to improve her reputation any.

The best I can think of is she goes underground for a while (maybe work at the rock farm again), and then start performing again once everyone's forgotten about everything. And also goes under a new stage name/identity.

Yeah, this is definitely the best episode yet...on par with the opening at least.

She will become a striper.

Also, I'd like to reiterate because I know it's going to be lost under the wave of OMG Trixie: Zecora is capable of performing actual magic. Moreover, she implies she's better at in than Twilight who, I will remind you, has just proven herself capable of creating autonomous life in the form of a Parasprite.

Epic Teamwork

This episode was just AMAZING, only issue I saw was they kind of messed up on Fluttershy a bit.

I don't know if I'd say that she's better that Twilight so much as more experienced at forms of magic that Twilight isn't familiar with. They have such different skillsets that it's hard to compare their power levels. Twilight probably has far more power, whereas Zecora seems more like she'd be Weak, but Skilled.

That's pretty much how I feel about it.

Also...why exactly doesn't Trixie trust wheels?

Re: Trixie's reputation. Well, making up with Twilight is a good start. She might be able to perform in Ponyville if Twi helps smooth things over.

Yeah, I do want to know more about Zecora's magic. How much can she do exactly, and how does she channel it without a horn? Can all Zebra's do that? I want some worldbuilding damnit.

Or was the tea thing an example of the sleight-of-hoof she had Twilight use in the end?

I'm not sure about the better than Twilight bit (though that might be because of the whole notion of Twilight's whole special talent being magic itself).

Not that I'm saying Zecora couldn't have helped either way. It's always good to get a fresh perspective on things. It's like when Iroh studied waterbending forms and got lightning redirection out of it.

@Apple: Zecora already knows some illusion spells, as seen in Luna Eclipsed. Zebra Magic works differently from Unicorn magic.

I'm pretty sure Zecora only knows about magic. That tea thing was just sleight of hoof.

If Trixie doesn't trust wheels, why did she have them on her cart? Did she look at them every day and glower at them? Clearly this is an extremely important detail that will open up a whole world of insights into her character.
