Here's a plot summary for those interested. There's so much content and jokes packed in here that just getting the bare plot doesn't do the comic justice.

Changelings invade Ponyville, kidnapping most of the townsponies and stuffing them into the town hall. Mane Six plus Spike kick ass and take names. It turns out that the invasion was just a front to kidnap the CMC and use them to draw the Mane Six into what has to be a trap. Twilight notices that the time limit they're given to rescue the CMC matches up with a cosmological event that causes any and all magical creatures to receive a massive boost in power, Sozin's Comet style, but she has no idea why Chrysalis wants them in particular to be there at that time. With Celestia indisposed with an unknown emergency (attempts to contact her are answered with an automatic form letter), the ponies are forced to set off for the Changeling Kingdom to save the CMC without any assistance.
