I figured this went without saying, since they always been shown sleeping in beds before, with the exception of when Pinkie fell asleep on the train.

I wonder how they invented beds, then.

They didn't invent them, they inherited them from the failure precursor race.

I don't even recall Dream Valley ponies using beds either, so maybe Megan gave them the knowledge.

Isn't it basically canon that Princess Celestia is considered the most beautiful pony in Equestria?

Anyway, my impression was that Fluttershy is strikingly beautiful, but that say, Fluer would be considered even more so. Fluttershy's moe just added to the appeal. In fact, my impression is that Rarity is really beautiful and Fluttershy is even more so.

Obviously ponyal prefference is also involved, but this is by general expectations of beauty.

The other member of the Mane 6 whose appearance we have some information on is Twilight who is implied by Applejack to be unnusually small. She's apparently the short, petite type.

That thing about precursors reminds me of a show that challenged people to live with 19th century technology out in the wilderness. One family found a modern bed in an abandonded house.

it was totally her face on the magazine's cover as done by Sibsy, it even resembles the flip-poster art Pinkie used to train her clones last episode.

I could see that. Twilight being a little petite type (especially in comparison to Applejack) and Flutters being very pretty. With her, it would probably be a 'natural beauty' sort of deal...with other things like good bone structure, proportions etc. And of course, moe appeal.

seriously, like 70% of the time humanized fluttershy will be wearing a yellow sweater. None of the other girls get that treatment!

Celestia isn't so much beautiful as she is regal. There's a small difference.
