I think that, as a great fan of Discworld myself, a reason for it might be the feeling that the worlds arei nherently incompatible. Mostly due to the nature of magic. Actually, I think it would be really interesting to See Twilight and Ponder Stibbons compare notes on their different types of M Agic. Twilight would probably be mortified by the notion of spells as literally fire-and-forget.
