Zecora cutie mark: we don't know if that's an actual cutie mark or a "tribal" mark

...

That's the human version of that scene.

Twilight spinning a revolver on her finger and if any of the clones ran, Dash had an AR-15.

@Zecora: I think it's a tribal mark. I think it means "Doctor" or "Scientist."

Thre is one fan fic where Zebras don't get Cutie Marks, and Zecora was the first one in living memory to ever have one.

[up] Well in the fic it's her tribes symbol for healer.

There has got to be a way to block images like that, I don't need some stupid darker turn to this.

It was more or less inevitable. To be honest I do find that the scene worked to give some tension to a problem that was more or less solved.

But yeah, the whole clone thing was bound to be taken to it's darkest conclusion regardless of how not life like the clones were.

That is so wrong.

[lol]

On a tangentially related note, I had this weird mental image of Pinkie as Madoka, of all people, purely on the basis of hair color. (I guess that would make Twilight as Homura, and Applejack as Mami.)

@Applelight:. . .Dave?

@Mousa: It happens. It's now probably my favorite Pinkie Pie episode.

Anyway, I'll try not to do it to often. Wouldn't want to shake up your worldview too much.tongue

@Applelight: Ah, yes Mr. Polsky. Well he may have fumbled a few things I don't think he could have really done much else in this sort of show. And as I have said, despite the nature of the scene it did add some nice tension and suspense to the episode.

Zecora's trading card lists her symbol as her cutie mark, so I guess it's All There in the Manual that it is a cutie mark?

The cards claim that Zecora has a cutie mark.

As for the picture, that's what the scene looked like to me. Actually, it looked worse. Whatever happened to them looked worse than being shot. They were horribly distorted before their entire body was destroyed. Of course, part of the issue is that I think that plants should have rights. So no matter how sub-pony people claim the clones were, it's not going to be good enough for me. As I've said before, I have a lot in common with Fluttershy.

EDIT: I guess I was ninja'd on Zecora.

well FPK is only an issue becuase of how the moral came across, the rest of it is generally seen as a great episode, and everyone, including the rest of the staff and Lauren herself admit they bungled the delivery of the moral in that one.

OAB is only a big deal because people keep adding the whole cowboys and Indians IRL stuff into the discussion and it kind of hits a lot of nerves.

TMP is just people going out of their way to interpret things as darkly as possible, despite it having been made clear what they are suggesting is not the case, the clones were not actual ponies, just a very basic magical construct, and it was the real Pinkie.

Given how they were immediately presented as flanderized imitations of Pinkie, I'm strongly inclined to believe they were going for "not real ponies, comical disfigurement and/or magical banishment is perfectly kosher".

On another note, I loved that we again get to see Pinkie with more nuance than "perky pink party pony". And that sadness doesn't automagically make her hair go limp.

The cards also say that Cadence is the Element of Love.

Just saying.

yeah they weren't just "sub-pony" they were nothing more then magical constructs given a flash imprint of the very basic surface personality of Pinkie. More like golems then anything else.
