I liked over a barrel, the problem was the ending. But there was not other ending they could do in a "kids" show.

Storyyeller loves Over a barrel. It's my least favourite episode (my opinion on it is identical to JT's) but I still enjoy it nough to rewatch it every now and then.

Huricane Fluttershy is my second favourite episode. It... spoke to me. It was like the episode was written specifically for me and was talking to me. It had me in tears. I was Fluttershy in that episode. I really could feel all her pain and knew exactly what she was going through. I know what it is like to feel that way. I spent most of my life felling that way and that episode helped me overcome the last bit of that.

I didn't notice any for season 3. People probably either got bored of making them, or they thought it wouldn't be as fun with only 13 episodes.

Actually, she doesn't say a single thing that's untrue and is clearly uncomfortable with the deceit she's using. She does pretty well reggardless, but Rarity would have done a better job at distracting the crystal ponies from the fake heart.

EDIT: There were several versions of the season 3 Bingo sheet before one was decided. They've started marking the one decided on now. I suppose it shouldn't be too hard to find.

@Osais Actually, AJ didn't lie once during the whole episode. She diverted attention and made clever use of misdirection, but she never told an outright lie. Even when trying to reassure the ponies that the Heart would be there soon, she was telling the truth assuming Twilight came through in finding it.

When I rewatch the episode tonight I'll grab a good example.

Yeah, she believes in Twi, so she's willing to believe they'd find the Crystal Heart.

Pony App strategy: A good number of the ponies that normally need to be unlocked through premium balloon pop rounds can be unlocked with bits if you launch the app while in Airport Mode. Also, the premium Gems can be acquired through the daily loyalty bonuses as well as sometimes thru Derpy.

Anyway, my stance on the whole "ascension" thing is basically the same as Sereg's; I'd much rather they didn't go that route, but if they did they'd probably do okay with it. But all the same I'm hoping they're prepping Twilight for something else. One of the things I like about the show is the fact that Twilight is generally shown on an even playing field with her friends despite her "special" position as the princess' student, and having her ascend would kinda break that unless all of her friends ascended with her.

@JT: I rather imagine up til now Twi has been learning mundane magic that has been used by normal unicorns before. The Next Stage would involve more interesting kinds of magic, lessons in self-control, and lessons in morality (Especially since she's gotten Dark Magic so quickly).

Again, cause and effect are getting mixed up. The fair didn't magically make the crystal ponies happy, it mundanely made them happy because it was a reminder of the good days before Sombra's reign, and a promise of a new future without Sombra. The shadows and dark crystals made the ponies unhappy because they heralded Sombra's return. The arrival of Cadance with the crystal heart bolstered their morale again because it showed them that they had a new ruler who was going to defend them against Sombra, and she had their ancient superweapon with which to defend them.

Happiness bolsters the crystal magic, not the other way around.

I guess the ease with which the Crystal Fair cheers up the ponies could look like some kind of magic, but it seems to me more like a symptom of the Sugar Bowl setting.
