Okay now that've I've seen it, I think I'll put it into pros and cons

Pros

Cadance not a Deus ex Machina
Spike given a more attention by personality rather than because he is a dragon
Vastly improved animation
Sombra's voice
Great plot
Memorable songs

Cons - Shining Armor didn't get to do much - The other five got put greatly Out of Focus - Sombra feels like a Generic Doomsday Villain rather than one with a personality like Discord or Chrysalis - Not enough Luna

Still better than Canterlot Wedding and the series premiere, but not as good as Discord (To be fair that's a Tough Act to Follow)

Well, this is a case where the villain is more of an ominous threat than a show-stealing ham. Discord's great, but if all the villains were like that it'd just become kind of a stale shtick.

I liked how SA used Cadance as a glider to catch Spike and the Crystal.

Otherwise, I dunno. I felt underwhelmed? I'm kinda not feeling good so that could be part of it.
