Yeah, Sombra was more of a plot device than an actual character, but I'm actually okay with that, as the focus of the episode was usually elsewhere anyway. They've only got 44 minutes to work with.
Discord had 44 minutes, Chrysalis was prominent but only got full "villain time" in the last half, and Nightmare Moon only really had 22 minutes' worth of face time.
And they were more interesting than Sombra.

This may have been pointedo ut at some time during the episode that I missed, but it's kind of interestign that all the Crystal ponies were Earth Ponies, isn't it?
I mean, it's obviously not that being Crystaline was a unique feature, since the mane six also got it for a bit too.

Also, Twilight's gravity spell was pretty awesome. It's like something out of VVVVVV.
More like Lemmings Revolution, what with the cylider thing and teh stairs. Actually, it's a lot like Lemmings Revolution, but I guess noone's played that.

I doubt Sombra is coming back, i mean the guy got obliterated in his solid form.
Which still weirds me out. I mean evil or not, h didn't get blasted off like Chrysalis, he was turned into chunky salsa.
Anyhow, I enjoyed the two party though it had it's problems, like the Rainbow Dash guide hot to be ten times more obnoxious than she already is.
Pinkie Pie was funny per usual with all her little gags.
Sombra was disappointing, the songs were okay, I liked them more than previous ones. I like that Spike got to be a hero in this one.
