Funny how fandom can go from gushing for a show to tearing at each others' throats with fights over favourite characters, furry fetishes (and sexualization in general), grimdark fanfiction and snarky self righteous comics.

Well, to be honest, it is a lot more civil than most fandoms. Ponychan in particular is one of the friendliest places I've seen on the interwebs.

Hell, just today someone made a thread about how there was too little swearing on Ponychan, and it basically ended in everyone agreeing to disagree and posting more cute pictures after much civil discussion.

It was...odd. And kinda cool.

It's a lot nicer and more accepting than other fandoms I've seen. I used to hang around rangerphiles on the Acorn Cafe forum for a while, and though they're probably the second friendliest fandom I've seen, they're kinda dominated by conservative Christians who shun you for being anything else, plus many of them are overly obsessed with it to the point where you'll be pretty much out of the loop if you're not a huge fan. You can be a casual fan of My Little Pony and still have fun at Ponychan, not so much at The Acorn Cafe.
