As we saw last season with the Grand Galloping Gala, there's still room for small on going story arcs.

Wonder if this season will have an arc? Is the friendship letters the others are going to write the arc, or have as it yet to be set off, if there even is one?

We're practically getting those already. Best Night Ever had three songs in it, and you wouldn't be able to fit much more than that into a half hour episode.

S2 may have some kind of Big Bad.

On the topic of season long arcs, something I was thinking about that would be neat is if Celestia disappeared for some reason at the beginning of the season and Luna had to take over for awhile. There would be episodes where the cast is called in to help Luna with some issue she's not used to, and episodes where they'd get a clue as to where Celestia is and go off to search for her. Then they'd find her at the end of the season and she would have been preparing for some Big Bad or other.

Yeah, that's way more elaborate than they'd actually do on the show, but whatever.

I got an arc right here;

cast meets (and defeats) a villian,

said villian turns up later during the Mayoral Election to run for mayor. Their goal? Get elected, then enact laws destroying each one of the mane casts way of life (banning transfats to get back at Pinkie for instance). Mane Cast ruin their campaign fair and square;

season finalle,

bigger evil shows up. Mane cast ally with villian. Hatchet buried. Friendship lesson taught. The end.

The only problem is that that's so major it pretty much necessitates putting the Slice of Life stuff on hold until it's solved. I'm all for more adventure episodes, but they need to be the type that won't make the Slice of Life ones nonsensical.

Well I figure they would know that Celestia is fine and off doing something important, so in the absence of some clue as to her location they'd just be doing what they normally do.

But you're right, it's still way more continuity based than the show could get away with.

I've always wondered... how do we actually gauge "Fanon" here? Do we have people who read through a bunch of fanfics on Equestria Daily or deviantART? I know it sounds a bit silly, but I'd like to know where some of this Fanon stuff actually comes from and if its really widespread or just a small belief on some corner of 4chan.

It appears we're getting another CMC episode.

Complete with Applebloom getting her mark...and about a dozen others.

I still think there should be an episode where TWILIGHT tries to run for mayor. It'll give us a chance to see more Mayor Mare

Yeah, a reccuring villain would be cool, but her certainly can't be a massive threat. It would mess up the show's dynamic too much

Man, talk about being careful what you wish for. I wonder what could cause something like that to happen. It sounds exactly like the kind of thing poison joke would do.

It'll probably be a natrual condition for Fillies/Colts to develop. Never mentioned before now of course.

Does it mean that cutie marks will be appearing all over her body? Or will there only be one on her flank that keeps changing?

Probably all over her body, since it seems like it's based on chicken pox. I wonder if one of them will be the cutie mark she'll eventually get or if they're all just random.

Zecora has something on her flank, but I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a cutie mark or not.

I assumed that each country in this world has a dominant species of equine living within it. Those species are the one's who develop Cutie Marks.

For Equestria the dominant equine type is ponies

for Zecorah's home country the dominant equine type is Zebras

Slightly related topic. Who invited Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle to Diamond Tiara's party? She doesn't know who they are or even that they are blank flanks.

We've had several alternatives; none of them have really caught on.

Applebloom gets a bunch of cutie marks? That reminds me of a fan fic... and this fanart based on said fanfic....

Remember Twilight was able to make a cutie mark appear on Apple Bloom for a short moment, maybe AB comes down with some kind of Magic-Induced-Flu?

..Also this will be following the Sweetie Belle episode. Is it me or do they do CMC episodes in pairs?
