Most likely, she invited everyone in the school, but didn't bother remembering the names. The more ponies to admire at her amazing cutie mark, the better.

Okay, I'm really torn on the CMC info. On one hand, I really like the idea of one of them actually getting it; it be a good way to move the characters forward and stretch their interactions with each other. On the other hand, "Cutie Pox" just screams of "it's going to be totally gone by the end of the episode", which would be annoying; I don't want to CMC ending up at square one. I want them to develop, dangit.

My personal suspicion is that the CMC will get their marks in the final episode, when Celestia descends from the heavens and flat-out orders them to perform tasks related to their respective talents...because, based on their past performance, that's about the only way they'll get the message.

I like the Cutie Mark Crusaders. As for Diamond Tiara's party, I'm assuming it was a kind of open party, or maybe a bring a friend deal.
Most unicorns, especially MLP unicorns, do not sharpen the point on their horn, so the ball would not have popped from that.
It's all right, they're still quite young and have yet to fully define their characters/personalities.
Rounded probably looks more friendly and cute. That and it transitions to toys better because a bunch of little girls with unicorn toys with razor-sharp horns would not end well.
Like someone said; it's great to see them doing something that's not related to cutie marks.
