Or do like that episode 22 Short Films About Springfield. Have a bunch of characters that don't get enough screen-time like Big Mac and Cheerilee and let them be the center of attention for an episode. All you need is something to tie the various segments together.

Oh right, you weren't around then. When season 2 was airing, I wrote a bunch of overly analytical reviews of each episode

. After the season ended I said I'd write an overview comparing the two seasons, and now I'm finally getting around to it.

I find that pretty much anything is easier to write when you right because you want to as opposed to writing for an assignment. I guarantee you if one of my profs had said "Write a 5k word review of each MLP episode" I probably would have hated it.
