So the Hub has made an announcement that they are 30 days away from making an announcement?

...or something like that, yes.

I still think it's kind of a dick move to announce the date of the announcement.

Like, that's being a fricking tease, right there.

But I'm really willing to take what I can get at this point.

They could also handwave the map by saying that it was before/after Discrod's reign.

By the way, we are talking about something that is totally not sexual in anyway right now.

Just putting that out there.

Reviving the previous RD/FS discussion because I wasn't here in time, I sorta see them as being mild aqquaintances similar to Rarity and Applejack before Twilight came along, occasionally talked and helped each other out, but generally didn't see much in common with each other beforehand.

I might just see it that way however because I like the idea of RD being a Dynamic Character and it sorta explains away her Characterization Marches On moment in Dragonshy.

As for her best episode, I see Hurricane Fluttershy as a good display of character and redeeming aspects for her, but not her character defining one. I think a defining episode for each pony is usually one that goes deep into their character flaws, albeit while still kind of displaying their positive traits as well (and maybe how the two facets connect). Sonic Rainboom is a good example.

You know what would make an interesting episode? An episode that focuses on the stallions of Ponyville.

Think about it. What were the stallions doing on the night of the Grand Galloping Gala? Why were the stallion members of the Apple family not seen at the family reunion? Why were they not at the Hearth's Warming Eve play?

It just makes me wonder what the stallions' jobs are in Ponyville. idea

I'd like that. He never gets much attention, either from the writers or just from ponies in general.

There were a few Apple Family stallions besides Big McIntosh at the reunion—Red Delicious, Golden Deliciousnote , and offscreen Uncle Apple Strudel, plus we don't know who (and thus what gender) Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, or Apple Cinnamon Crisp are.

Admitedly judging from it's story plans, it sounds like it would have been more a 'character played from the other cast's perspective' story than an actual Day In The Limelight for him, though I think it was stated the episode would have developed more of his Silent Snarker qualities.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about a Big Mac centered episode. On one hand, he's cool, on the other hand, he's so ridiculously chill that I'm not sure how they'd be able to build an episode around him. It's certainly possible, but it would take some work. Maybe have him get in a fight with AJ or something.

Big Mac reminds me a lot of one of my brothers, even though he's younger than me. He's just so chill about everything, and so polite and helpful.

@Turtle a page or so ago: Well, if you're beginning to feel apathetic, try some different stuff for a change, then come back later once there's a date.

That's what I would do anyway. smile

[up][up][up]Right; he was offscreen at the reunion in the first episode (when Applejack was rattling off names, Apple Strudel was the first of five Apples who were listed but not identified).

I get the idea Big Mac may work in the same way as Gromit, a hard put upon Silent Snarker that tends to suffer from the others' bumbling. That said, we know Big Mac has a secret eccentric side.
