I've never seen The Muppet Show though.

well, this is a serious problem which you should look into correcting as soon as possible.

Oh well, at least there's an obvious name to use for fanfics.

What, even with the Count posting all those Muppet clips?

Henrietta was Sesame Street. And her existence gave us this godawful pun:

My friend, Henrietta the Chicken, is reading a book called “Great Eggspectations”. It’s by a famous author, Charles Chickens.

If it's any consolation, Pink Eyes named the griffon Henrietta for the Gunslinger Girl reference instead of the pun.

Actually, we've been warned not to go off topic in this thread. The mods don't like it.
More like this particular thread is in the Media section of the forum, which is generally on-topic. Not as strict about on-topicness as the left-hand side of the forum, but do try to avoid derailing anyway.
What do I stand for?

An official MLP handbook?

144 pages, so it's definitely not something cheap like a colouring book. Man, wouldn't it be amazing if we got a whole handbook on Equestrian History, characters and flora & fauna?

It's a real listing BTW. Release date April 2 next year. Age range 12 to 18.

[up] 12-18? Since that above the show's actual age range there is a good chance its aimed for bronies. It also more or less rules out it being a simple activity book.

The interesting thing is the length. If it's just going to outline the world, 144 pages is alot, unless it goes into detail or has alot of pictures. It likely means it will do some new world building. But if that is true, how close to fanon will it be?

I imagine there will be profiles of the main characters, some stuff on royalty, the map of Equestria, the history of Nightmare Moon and the Everfree...

Probably won't get into politics and society, but a guy can dream. And the cover should be the cover to Twi's book in the pilot.

Heh, what if the main selling point is "Buy this book to fully understand everything that happens in season 3"? tongue

IRL horses and ponies apparently love alcohol and have a high tolerance to it.

And the headcanon begins!

Lauren doesn't allow them to drink on-show :V

Personally I bet AJ's farm does hard cider and her namesake drink :V

Ahoy!

I just read about this book. I hope it's good!

Also, I know Lauren said ponies don't drink on the show, but does alcohol exist in Equestria?

@Applelight: Probably, if only for medicinal purposes.

I personally think the "ponies don't drink" angle comes more from the fact that it's a kids show. Admittedly they have tried to spin it as an aspect of the universe and even tried the whole "salt= alcohol" thing, but I don't think it quite works.

@ Mio

That's probably it. I was hopping it does exist, especially rum.
