I tend to assume chronological order unless things in the episodes imply otherwise. In season 2 the only weird bits are that I tend to assume that Dragon Quest takes place before A Friend in Deed, and that Putting Your Hoof Down takes place earlier than most other episodes.

There were multiple attempts to arrange season 1, but it's very difficult to make anything sensible, especially due to the WWU/FWF thing.

@Gex: I am incapable of listening to that band without comparing them to Anathallo, the band Andrew Dost used to be in. On the other hand, I never cared much for The Format (Fun's songwriter's previous band).

Well, if you want my two cents, I think that the best possible way for the show to have continuity is to have small, non-story-important nods in each episode. Like, a character saying that they'll do something in one episode, and doing it in the background of another.

@Veni: Technically yeah, Twi is now nobility (although she already has a Title as Celestia's Student!)

Technically, all the Mane Six have official Titles as Bearers of the Elements of Harmony, but so far the only ponies who might really capitalize on it for business are AJ and Rarity (Because AJ really needs the money to overhaul the farmhouses and barns and get Big Mac new gear and Granny a new hip, and Rarity wants to make her big break in Upper Society).

@Veni Well, since Cadence seems to be princess of the Crystal Ponies, it seems to me like the royalty's only valid there. On the other hand, the knighthood probably wouldn't, so it balances out.

I'd like to think anyone could wield the elements, provided they were examples of the element in question's spirt, so considering it the equivalent of a 'knighthood' makes sense.

They never used the title anywhere. AJ probably's a mite too proud to abuse her knighthood like that, and Rarity probably thought it discreet to avoid using her title that way too.

Anyways, Cadence's cutie mark is a hint of her descent and birthright of the Royal Family of the Old Crystal Kingdom.

@storyyeller: I bet you can't. Personally I'd set it up so if you tried to use your element title to gain an unfair advantage over others that would disqualify you from being it.

@Gex The most recent summary seems to indicate that that isn't true, with the Crystal Empire suddenly popping to existence rather than having been there all along.
