Hallo. @Dorku: While Equestria doesn't have any native dodos, it is quite the figure in interplanar commerce. Thus, dodos, or at least knowledge of them were introduced to Equestria.

An interesting take on the matter.

How do they feel about neogi?

Would anyone be interested in helping me make up some aerial manovers for a bat pony named Aerobat? He can't be faster than RD obviously, but he should be a potential equal none the less.

how did any member of the CMC know what they were?

The same way a human child would.

I can't give you any specific pointers, but maybe you could play up the Technician Versus Performer attributes by making him more dramatic. Like RD is a better technical flier than he is, but he has a lot of flair to make up for it.

[up][up] But they existed in the real world.

@ JT

That could work yeah. He does have a blend of ww1 fighter ace/chivalrous knight going on, so yeah.

But...he can't make rainbows...so I need something else.

Did we ever reach a consensus about Equestrian dinosaurs?

Yes but they don't exist any more on Earth. I was wondering if they were still alive in Equestria.

[up][up] We never reach consensus on anything. Why, the entire concept is as absurd as rabbits being land animals.

[up] Ah, my apologies. I thought you were asking if they had ever existed, not whether they still existed.

It's a shame, too, I had this really awesome comparison involving the Zarniwoops of Skithrax asking if humans knew about skogwops.

Man, Nobilis is taking over my brain, which isn't bad for a game I don't own. Now I'm wondering if Pinkie Pie is secretly the Domina of Parties. It would explain a lot.

You know, I think it would be pretty cool if Celestia's family was larger than we've be led to believe and shared many similarities with the royal family of Amber.

[up]Not really new, it's a few years old but it definitely has one of the most interesting concepts I've come across.

To keep it somewhat related, have a ponified Corwin

[up][up] It's been around for years, although the third edition is comparatively recent. It's a pen and paper rpg in which you play a human (or other entity) bound to a metaphysical concept, so you might be the Power of Trousers, Power of Fire, Power of Ducks or Power of Hamburger. You then use the godlike power you have within this field to save the world from incredibly beautiful Humanoid Abominations that ride in from outside reality and cripple various concepts, sometimes including the ones the players are using. There's a lot more weirdness and poetry in there than this summary; I'm just obsessing over it at the moment thanks to two gentlemen named Strange and Norrell putting me in mind of it and sending me on the track to rpgnet spoiler threads and wondering which stats each pony would focus on and so on.

Edit: Thought. The Mane Six are a Familia. Celestia is their Imperator. Makes perfect sense.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is an excellent book. One of the best demonstrations of how to handle magic that I've seen. I would regret giving it away if it hadn't been for charity.

@Apple Random cool idea off the top of my head.

Since he's a bat-pony, what if his deal was shadows? Not hiding in them, since he's all hotheaded and flashy, but escaping them. If he gets a fast start, his shadow literally stretches behind him as a trail, and if he tries hard enough, he can completely escape his shadow, leaving it behind as a distraction/decoy/whatever for a few seconds before it fades away and reappears on him. How the hell does that work with the laws of physics? Probably the same way leaving rainbow-colored trails of light behind you does. tongue

[up][up]That does sound like a pretty cool idea. I was trying to think of something shadow-related, but I couldn't think of anything good. That works really well.

That's...sweet Jesus that's awesome. I can't thank you enough for that idea.

I'm trying to do something tricky here...making him stoical...and a hot blooded blood knight at the same time...with plenty of Snark thrown in too.

I fear I might be doing to much though.
