Regarding the prequel, I think it would go like this:
- Celestia and/or Luna, or another pony discovers the Element of Harmony.
- Many episodes are spent finding ponies suitable for each Element.
- Along the way, the wielders defeat Discord.
- Then time passes and the wielders die out one by one, until Celestia and Luna remain.
- Then Luna corrupts.
Well, this sounds cheerful.
