Celestia and Luna went back in time and created the world and all the ponies.

Just like in Repo Man.

God, I love that movie. It's so weird.

But... yeah. Jason Todd may be kind of a Badass now, was resurrected in a way that even I think is kind of stupid.

I really don't understand why everyone disputes the idea that Granny Smith is several hundred years old. The show gave us two facts: Ponyville has been around for several hundred years, and Granny Smith was there when it was founded. Therefore, she is several centuries old.

Flying ponies who can hover and levitate with little feathery wings and unicorns who use their horns to do all sorts of magic, ponies who can pull houses around and kick ponies over the horizon, alicorns who explicitly live thousands of years, all fine. Why does a 300 year old Earth Pony break your Willing Suspension of Disbelief?
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.

Well, my Willing Suspension of Disbelief was rocked to its core by the Superboy Prime punching the universe thing, but I still go along with it.

By the way, I totally recommend Repo Man. It's so 80s, I love it. I can't believe I missed the 80s... I was made for The Eighties.

I guess I'll always have The Nineties.

[up][up]Except I don't think it ever confirms that Ponyville is, in fact, that old. The other thing is that if typical ponies lived that long, there'd be a lot more old farts running around. It basically comes down to either "Granny is several hundred years old" or "Twilight misspoke and/or didn't state her facts clearly", and I find the latter a lot more likely. I feel like if ponies living multiple centuries were commonplace, it would be an important enough aspect of the setting that it would have come up at some point.

Twilight would not get that fact wrong.

I know because I would not get that fact wrong.

Watching The Da Vinci Code was an agonizing experience.

Granny Smith clearly bathes in the blood of virgins.

Also on the Winter Wrap Up thing, the way I heard Twilight phrased sounded like she was say that Ponyville had been doing it the Earth Pony way for hundreds of years, not that Earth Ponies had been doing it for hundreds of years and that is how Ponyville does it.

That's how I initially interperted it too, but that seems to have been contradicted.

[up]Which is why I say it is a retcon.

[down]I can see her having very detailed knowledge of the event's history, but not knowing how the event is actually being conducted.

Twilight didn't prepare for Winter Wrap Up enough to find out what she'd even do during it. This does not bode well for her knowledge of the thing.

I am a slave to continuity.

Still getting over my general huffiness at the DC reboot, after all.

Hmph.

Okay, the exact line in question is this:

No Spike, Ponyville was started by Earth ponies, so for hundreds of years they've never used magic to clean up winter. It's traditional.

I admit this implies that Ponyville is hundreds of years old, but I still think there's some ambiguity about whether she's intending to refer to Earth ponies in general, or the Earth ponies in Ponyville. It could really be argued either way. I personally lead towards the former given that we have more evidence that Ponyville was founded relatively recently and Twilight just phrased it badly, but that's just me.

So, what you're saying is, it's vague enough that you can believe whatever you want?

Good afternoon, bronies. I have a question regarding the series pilot.

So out of resentment, Luna turned into the Nightmare Moon. This said entity was so powerful, and Celestia couldn't cleanse the corruption. So, she had to harness a powerful set of artifacts that is the Elements of Harmony, exiling Luna/Nightmare Moon TO THE MOON!

Am I getting it right so far?

Ya know why idjits like JJ are sho lazy? 'cause if they even attempted to waste as much time as I did on some worthless fanshervice pictur, they'd get nothing done in the time they'd want it dun.

Spitfire and Soarin' on the cover of Skyrunners Illustrated and here's da derpibooru link or whateves, I'm gunna go die or sumsuch.

EDIT: Gex, you know full well even if it was posted before no one but Applelight would care, and further more, how the hell did you get to it before I did?

@ Roy: Yeah pretty much, some people think there's an evil space miasma that made Luna into Nightmare Moon before or after that first step. I disagree with that fanon personally.
