@Freeman: I love that Disneyesque drawing of Shiny and Cadence. It is so pretty.
@badwolfwho - Good.
There are some questions regarding the beginning. It would be great if you guys can answer them.
- Nightmare Moon is obviously a being more powerful than Luna. Where did the power come from? Is Nightmare Moon merely an extension of Luna's resentment or is it a form of Superpowered Evil Side?
- Where did the Elements of Harmony come from? Did Celestia create them or did they exist before that?
- Nightmare Moon was trapped in the moon. How did she come back in the pilot? What exactly did she do to Celestia?
Through endless struggles with his flawed human nature, a great man is born.
@JT - Well, darn.
Oh well, I guess I can't expect every writer to be Tolkien.

@Condo, Well it's not just the tomboyish behavior, obviously the rainbow thing played into it as well.

When I first started watching I confused RD with being male a couple times.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
@David: From what I gather, it's most the fact that JJ got stupidly popular from drawing humanized pics that all have quite similar designs.
Well, everypony is a lesbian in the majority of fanon, so it's not that big a deal.
At least the females are.

@Condo, The basis for it is that Ponyville's population is 90% female. There's not a lot of stallions to go ship for.

@Mousa: I think it's mostly that he simply hit a style he liked and decided to streamline it rather than continue developing. I realize that runs contrary to your personal take on it, but I think it's a valid artistic decision. His current art isn't bad by any means, and he draws it far faster than the majority of artists in the fandom.
I think the idea that everyone has to have a romantic partner is overstating it a little. I mean, I like certain pairs, but it's based almost entirely off the fact that I think those interactions are interesting. I mean, I'm sure that some people are like that, but not everyone who's interested in shipping is.
