Sometimes, when I have to skip over so many pages, I wonder if anyone happens to mention me. And then I wonder about making a script to trawl through and archive the thread, and then highlight posts with my name on it.

I actually headcanon that Donkeys have longevity as their innate magic, though the only evidence I have to support it is a Sereg-style super extrapolation of a small animation detail combined with the fact that donkeys live a good bit longer than horses in real life.

@ Mousa

Holy shite that's awesome!

The girls (and spike) are the exact classes that I expected them to be. And the whole line up is superbly laid out.

Kudos!

In my headcanon longevity is natural thing for all ponies, but I never thinked about other races about this thing.

Here "realistic" Chrysalis.

@Kyler

Cranky's Gala flashback in A Friend in Deed was done silent film style, as opposed to Granny Smith's sepia-toned-but-still-color flashback in Family Appreciation Day. That implies to me that Cranky's flashback took place before Granny Smith's. Combine that with the fact that Cranky and Matilda were both adults at the Gala and only appear to be late-middle aged in the present, and it would appear that Donkeys live for quite a long time. Of course, it's just a tiny detail that probably doesn't mean much, but it's cool to think about, and certainly balances them against the abilities of ponies.

[up]But during that Gala Poniville already existed. It was place where Matilda went after GGG.

@DC She never said that. She just said that she had been living there for a long time. In any case, I just said that it's silly headcanon. No one else has to take it seriously.

It might not have been immediately after. (Unless I'm forgetting something.)

[up] Well, it seems legit to me, at least.

Yeah, I bet Granny Smith is totally hundreds of years old.

That's canon.

Yeah fantasy characters always live to be really old. Bilbo was 50 when he had his journey.

I don't think ponies could be really long lived, otherwise surely the Nightmare Moon thing wouldn't be thought of as just a legend since it would only happened a few generations ago. For ponies I just go for humanish age.

[up][up]Yeah, but Granny Smith is different. She is ridiculously old.

Maybe it's just certain Earth Ponies, or even just her.

[up][up][up] And SO PSYCHED for The Hobbit movie, even if it is in 2 parts.

Nothing really suggests that Granny Smith is that old. Twilight only said that the Earth Pony tradition of changing the seasons by hoof was hundreds of years old, not the town itself.

But Granny Smith said that when she was a filly, there was no Ponyville.
