My personal headcanon on AJ's hat: she just found it at a yard sale someplace. There's no real personal significance; she just likes it.

I've been saying that for a while. I just thought it was weird that so many people assume that it was the CMC's argument that busted him out, which is bizarre given that Discord's always shown to create chaos rather than feed off of it.

Tia flat out says that it was her connection to the elements being severed that caused it to weaken. So she had to have had a connection to them up to then. And yeah, It was that which caused him to break out. At most the CMC just gave him a bit of a boost and helped him get out a little faster, if anything. but they were not the root cause and most likely victims of Discord.

@J Teeth: People probably really buy into the idea of the CMC releasing Discord with their argument because the thought of three children unleashing a living embodiment of chaos is apparently very hilarious.

@Seraph Which still in no way rules out other bearers of the Elements. It just means that Luna and Celestia didn't die (which is pretty obvious).

I'm still not getting where that idea is coming from, given that Discord is never even implied to feed off of chaos. As far as I can remember, there's zero indication that he gets any sort of extra power from ponies fighting in his presence. If anything it's the other way around; he spreads chaos.

Either that or it gives them an excuse to hate on the CMC. I've seen it happen.

Also, the prison might have held for a while after the link broke; Discord didn't necessarily have to bust out the exact moment the Elements got realigned. What I think happened is that the link maintained the prison, and when it shifted over, the prison started to deteriorate. It just wasn't until the start of S2 that it weakened enough for Discord to break out.

Hmm. If his prison was weakened because her connection to the elements were severed. Does that mean he's just going to get out again when the mane six die? That's not a very long time, and he's gonna be pissed when he gets out.

@CDRW Discord wouldn't be that pissed. He certainly wasn't any more angry at Celestia than a person would be after losing a fun game of chess. Also, Celestia didn't know that the seal would break before, but now she does. She can take precautions to make sure that new bearers are assembled to repair the seal quickly.

The new EOH transferal ceremony involves rainbowizing a certain statue.

I think more evidence that the fight didn't assist his breakout is that they wouldn't put him out in public if that was possible.
