If Celestia turned evil, I think Dash would be loyal enough to do the right thing - what Celestia would no doubt want them to do if she ever turned.

I guess I'm just in love with the idea of a member of the mane cast (not brainwashed or anything) standing in the way of her friends because her loyalty is with someone else.

As I said: Celestia and Twilight differing on an opinion would probably be the best way to pull that off

It takes a great amount of courage to stand up to your enemies. It takes an even greater amount to stand up to your friends.

But it takes some serious stones if that friend happens to have the power to banish you, then lock you in a prison in the place where she banished you to.

Does Celestia even have that power anymore?

She's not synchronized with the elements.

I mean I know where it comes from, but where did that method of writing it originate. Specifically the elongation of Moon

Been reading Fallout Equestria, Project Horizons, and Pink Eyes. Puppysmiles makes an adorable innocent tragic heroine, especially the scene where she finds an ancient sketch she made on the wall from her past life ;_; her low-intellect, high-charisma approach is amusing if a little depressing everytime the Wasteland brings reminders of her past.

There should be.

That would imply visiting countries other than Equestria... as well as having terrorists, hostages... delicate political negociations that would justify having covert operations... and of course, reasons for the higher-ups to betray their own agents, which no installment of MGS is complete without.

So lower the scale — there's a new super-secret ultra-awesome cupcake recipe in a bake shop in Phillydelphia, and Mr. and Mrs. Cake desperately need it to boost sagging business at Sugarcube Corner. Unfortunately, negotiations for a recipe exchange haven't gone anywhere. Cue the espionage mission with Solid Pink(ie) and her friends, codenamed Metal Box Solid...

It's a light and softer world though, so it should be a lot less tragic than the original MGS. I'm thinking a state of conflict between several pony countries not directly ruled by Celestia, with a power play and a conspiracy boiling away there.

Or it could be a story of subterfuge and sneakery featuring the Cutie Mark Crusaders and a prank/conspiracy to keep them occupied from getting into real trouble, where Pinkie proves to be the Party Ninja. Meme theory can be discussed! Diamond Tiara wakes up stuffed uncomfortably into her locker! Tin-can phone "CODEC" conversations! It would be most unforgettable summer-long prank ever played on the CMC ever.

A MGS parody in pony form has massive character potential. Instead of slavishly following the game plotlines, we can easily rojak up several interesting story elements into something familiar yet fresh, like having a conspiracy surrounding the manipulation of ponies acquiring cutie marks mirroring a plot to control the world by information manipulation with application of meme theory, and the Quirky Minibosses all underwent experimentation to get cutie marks that they may not have gotten in a normal life.
