And yes - someone posted a short video they took when they met her and got her to say a few lines in Dash and AJ's voices, and she seemed okay with that, if a little bit bewildered. =D

From what I can tell, getting voice actors to say something in a character's voice is pretty common.

Granted, that was a while ago, so the bronies were still pretty unknown, as far as I know.

There's something surreal about seeing a character's voice coming out of a human mouth. I don't know why, it just is.

She seems to be able to put on the rainbow Dash voice easier than the AJ one.

I wonder if the cracking we hear in RD's voice is intentional.

...We should totally make a trope page for Hey Ocean! And while we're at it, make one for Andrea Libman. That way all the pony Mane Six actors will have a page! :P

She seems to be able to put on the rainbow Dash voice easier than the AJ one.

I remember reading/hearing an interview with Daniel Ingram (I don't feel like digging through all of the Internet to find it) and I think he said that while singing Rainbow Dash is closer to Ashleigh's normal singing voice than Applejack because she has to put on a fake southern accent for AJ.

^^^It wasn't so much a translation as just the one phrase, really, but sure. I'm still curious. =)

In the one Hey Ocean! song I have ('Turn Up The Stars', the one I linked earlier), she actually sounds closer to Applejack, in my opinion.

Wait, where is Tara Strong based that it would be expensive for a crazily prolific voice actress to go to Canada for a week?

I'm the one that made her page! (check the history!) ... Why did it get blank and then locked? I've always wondered about that.

Also, we know the voice actors from The Ocean Group record together and apparently Tara Strong doesn't join them, probably because she lives in LA and everyone else is in Canada.

@Red Maybe this is cynical, but I'm not sure how much Tara actually cares for this show. Maybe it's just a paycheck to her? She has no interest in getting attatched to anyone

But I personally don't see anything wrong about it.

Now about Tara I think that with so many characters... maybe twilight isn't as special for her as others characters she has been playing for years like timmy turner.

Well, just by virtue of the fact that she's voiced roughly 93% of all female characters ever, it might be tough for her to view one job as more special than the others. Do we really know anything of what she thinks about the show?
