I think Cadance has more or less won out over Cadence in the official spelling department. They've been pretty consistent with that spelling in the last few months.
@Kyler: I think they're still screwing about with the search function. Does make it a bit annoying.

@Kyler In that case, yes, it is a musical reference. It was even worked into the songs in the finale as a musical pun of sorts.
I guess using a mispelling is easier to copyright.
