@Romanticcaveman: I had an idea for the Diamond Dogs to show up as bank robbers, if the Mysterious Mare Do Well episode had been done better/like an actual superhero show.

Ehhh gotta disagree with a lot on the list, but it's your list.

I would have put SRB, WWU, and BNE higher. some of my favorite episodes.

@JT: The only episodes I'd list under Subpar would be Look Before You Sleep and Putting Your Hoof Down.

Bank robbery is a foolish crime. But it always works in fiction, presumably since the sterotypes are based on the olden days when backs stored everything as cash and didn't have good cameras.

Doesn't it pretty much always get stopped in fiction?

@Seraphem: I know people were going to bring up SRB and WWU. I like them, but I hardly think they're the best that the series have to offer. I will say that SRB was right on the line in getting bumped up, so I might rethink that one. But I have to say that WWU has never really been high on my list. It's nice, but I honestly didn't really find it that memorable.

@Blue: LBYS is awesome. I honestly wish the show would do another Bottle Episode.

I'd heard that bank robbery is actually pretty easy to pull off, since the tellers are supposed to just hand over the money if threatened. Of course, not getting caught after the fact is presumably much harder.

Honestly, if I were to rank them, I wold only have three tiers, with my top 5-6 episodes in the top one, nearly all of them in the second one, and only one or two in the third one, with the third on being labeled just as "good" rather than "below average" or "bad". As usual, my rankings of things is completely useless.

Robberies are harder in places where folks keep armed security in the bank.

I originally just had "above average" "average" and "below average", but it was so vague that it didn't help much because like 40 of the episodes would end up under "average".

Eh, might as well as watch one more episode before sleeping.

Pinkie's head sure is flexible. She must have a gene of either an owl or a mantis.

I didn't mind Over The Barrel that much. I might credit Boast Busters and Griffin The Brush Off a little lower, they're still decent, but they're a bit awkwardly done and have a very goody goody feel to them.

I liked LBYS as well.

Boast Busters and Griffon The Brushoff just barely manage to climb out of the pit of mediocrity for me. They're pretty bad compared to most episodes, but each of them contains enough decent material that I feel they were worth watching.

Although I didn't like Griffon much at all, I still remember it fondly for the Pinkie/Dash interaction (NOT SHIPPING HERE) and the existence of Gilda.

I admit that when I came up with my own tier list I kind of had to shoehorn some episodes into categories because I wanted the Tiers to be roughly equal. Interestingly my top and lowest tier are probably the most accurate.

Griffin the Brush Off was "goody goody?" It probably had one of the most realistic endings and lessons in the whole series, IMO. Rather than the expected "Don't judge a book by it's cover" or "Everyone's okay deep down" you got "Sometimes, people are just assholes. You just have to make sure that you aren't one yourself."

@Van: The pony pictured is Berry Punch, who fanon has it is an alcoholic. The image behind her is a box of Minute Maid "Berry Punch." Berry is dismayed because her name is on a non-alcoholic beverage.

Wow, Pinkie's comment ("You got a roommate!") feels like a black comedy. I wonder who is that unlucky pony?

I think Boast Busters works much better than Griffon. The only problem I have with it is that the mane cast really don't have much call to be heckling Trixie, but other than that I don't see anything wrong with the episode.

LBYS was awesome. And WWU, was also awesome. Come on it's the episode that showd us what Daniel Ingram can really do.

Least favorite S1 episodes. OWTEW, boring, not bad, but nothing really good either

Griffon the Brush off. Gilda was way to one dimensionally jerky, and really didn't find much entertaining other then the opening chase scene and pranks.

rest I loved.

I like Cutie Mark Chronicles way more then most people here seem to.

Show Stoppers, is a case of one thing bringing up the rest of a mediocre episode. the CMC song it was so over the top hilariously bad it was epic.

only one that was really heckling her before she started addressing them personally was RD, and totally IC for her to do something like that if another pony is boasting about how great she is. Rest were just talking amongst themselves and got overheard.

Over a Barrel is one of the few episodes of Season 1 that stands out to me. The train scenes and high noon battle scene make it worthwile, IMO.
