My theory on Alicorns is that there's only 10 of them to represent the sun, the 8 planets (except Earth) Pluto and the Moon. Cadance is a fairly recent reincarnation of the Alicorn embodying Venus.

@Bad Considering that their solar system appears to be geocentric, I wouldn't assume that they have the exact same planets with the exact same names as we do.
