Avatar's soundtrack is great...for what it's used for. But it's not really good to listen to on it's own.

Have you guys listened to the Madoka Magica OST? Man, that is some good music. Oh and the Panty And Stocking OST. Those two are probably some of the best recent anime soundtracks out there.

Proud fanboy of anime/video games/scifi. Oh and of Rei Ayanami XD

Basically, I think a soundtrack should make you feel, so the more dramatic ones anime tends to have work for me. WA soundtracks often sound to me like they're just there to fill up sound space.
Outside of FIM, I think the last cartoon I would honestly say stood out for me music-wise was Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates.
I'm much more prone to listening to a video game OST than I am one from a TV show. I feel the way about video game music compared to TV music that Moe feels about anime vs WA music.

Actually, only one piece of music from Western cartoons makes my list of music that instantly conjures up emotion - those distinctive seven notes of the ATLA theme.
The others are all mostly from anime. Let's see (for the curious, anyway...)

I think it would just be interesting to see how Pinkie takes a marriage proposal. Would it all be just a game to her or would having to take something seriously drive her away?

Currently, I think she's too immature for a serious relationship, let alone marriage. Then again, I don't think she's even interested.
Further down the line, though, I can imagine her mellowing out some.

... I get the strangest feeling I've asked that question before. But my brain has been weird today.
Actually, reading a metric ton of manga earlier presented me with a scenario:
What if each pony found out her parents had put her in an arranged marriage? Let's assume the groom is someone who is reasonably good-looking, wealthy, and polite, but is otherwise a dull pony with not much of a personality.
(I was thinking about using this as a fanfic premise with Twilight... since honestly, I can almost see it happening now)

I think most of them would defy it. Fluttershy might not at first, but she'd eventually gather up the courage to do so.
Pinkie Pie, though, I can see just saying Sure, Why Not? and going with it.

Pinkie, of all people, would be the most against an arranged married with a pony with the personality of a brick.

Nah, she'd see it as a challenge, or a project. I'd expect her to treat him kinda like she treated Cranky, and try to get him to lighten up and stop being boring.

I haven't watched Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop or Trigun yet. Does that make me a bad otaku?
Ghost in the shell and trigun are questionable, but no Cowboy Bebop? you must hand over your otaku card immediately.
