@Vanthebaron:Well, since you appear to be sticking around: is there anything you actually like about the show, or is it all bad?

No wonder I have a hard time relating to you guys. tongue I'm more about the praise rather than the criticism. Granted, I will point out a problem when I see one, I just do not heavily focus on that. In the end, I want to enjoy the product I have.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

Like how in "Baby Cakes" Pinkie never actually feeds the foals or puts new diapers on them and winds up costing the cakes four bags of flour (which can't have been cheap) and yet she somehow proved she's a responsible babysitter. WTF?
Well, she did put the kids to sleep and cleaned up the mess that pretty much spanned the entire shop. She's not the same person she was at the beginning of the episode.

. I actually like The Ticket Master.

I loved it the first time, though I found it more average after rewatching. I like how Rainbow Dash is such an adoreable jerk.

@Orion - and you think we don't? Just that all things in life are subject to examination, is all.

On the other hand, you can also get too much symbolism, like in Song Of Solomon. (I like to call it the white peacock effect after a particularly egregious example.

The one episode I can think of that had a genuine twist for me was the Season 2 finale, and that can be chalked up to Never Trust a Trailer.

...Seriously, like being blind-sided by a rhino. That breathes fire.

@Kyler - Yeah, Pinkie manages some things, but still... the no-diapers always bugged me (you know the Cakes had to clean out that bed the next day)

@Story You are complaining about a several thousand year old canonized fanfic of having too much symbolism? Oh how little you know...

Hey, remember when I said I was taking a break? I lied.

Anyway, I guess I'm a lot like Baron in regards that I have a habit of MSTing things against the will of my family. Sorry about the shitstorm, Baron, I just didn't think it through and thought that you were implying that we were wrong for liking the show. Perhaps we can be friends.

You don't have much in the age department yourself, Gex

Just because I'm 13 doesn't mean I don't consider myself different from others in my age group.

Gex...just don't talk, ever

My only gripe is the statement that the plots of the earlier episodes aren't conflicts because...they are. They might be internal conflicts (i.e. in Ticket Master the conflict is mostly internal), but saying that there's no conflict because none of the characters are fighting each other doesn't really make any sense.

As for the cliches; yeah, a lot of the plots have been done before, but I think the execution is good enough that the episodes on the whole aren't too bad. I mean, yeah, we could see the ending of Ticket Master coming from a mile away, but we still got some interesting character interaction which I think makes it more than worth watching.

Gex we have this thing here called maturity. And let me give you a hint, Age is only an influence, not even the primary factor, mmkay? And I wouldn't diss Mousa, He's an old man.

I think that It's About Time was the weakest episode for me, and that can mostly be chalked up to the plot being predictable.

Okay, just... chill. We don't need anyone picking fights with anyone around here.

(Just in case, that goes for you too, Mousa.)

Yeah... um, you may want to get ready to hear that song again.

I honestly don't mean this to be offensive, but Gex, I can very much tell that you're that young.

@Van: YES, another who sees the light about Rainbow Dash.

All of us considered ourselves above our age groups as teenagers. And all of us were wrong.

This is so very true.

@Moe: Don't get me wrong, I do my fair bit of criticism at times, it's just not my highest priority. The thing is, you guys seem to relish in criticism far more than I do, so I guess that explains my disconnect with you guys.

OOC: Can't say I never criticize. I call myself a scientist and not criticizing kind of makes me look like a hypocrite.

Eeyup. Man, was I an idiot in high school. Well, I still am, but now I'm more aware of the fact.

Anyway, It's About Time was a bit of an odd one for me; on a technical level it has a lot of issues, namely that the plot is incredibly predictable and it has filler out the wazoo (was replaying the scene of Twilight giving herself the message really necessary?), but at the same time, it's probably in my top ten episodes for S2 just because it entertained me despite it's flaws. Pinkie's whole "I keep balls stashed all over Ponyville in case of emergencies" thing was way funnier than it had any right to be.

Most people are mature in some areas and immature in others.

I think I was more respectful on average, but more emotionally confused as a teenager. So give and take.
