That would actually be kinda cool though. I mean, the 80s were a goldmine of classic action movies.

Hey, both TF 2 and Portal2 have 60's stuff.

Don't forget Wargames and Tron. Actually Tron may be better off forgotten.

I mean seriously, First Blood, The Terminator, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Predator, Robocop, Commando... holy crap a video game that combined all that would be amazing.

The idea of an 80's version of TF 2 makes me want to see a level partially based off of Star wars and a Die hard refrence.

[up]JT, why do you have to ninja me in regards to Die Hard TF 2?tongue

Tron was a visually appealing and creative film that was ultimately dull and uninteresting.

The problem with the Tron series is that it spends too much time focusing on characters noone cares about, instead of the humans. It's like a reverse Transformers.

@Marston: Like I said, an 80's version of TF would be awesome and Die Hard is one of the best from that era.

Visually appealing for its time maybe. Now it's just painful to watch.

I can see the Sniper of TF 3 having an uzi 9mm instead of that grease gun. And the spy having a Desert Eagle instead of a Python.

[up][up]I still think it looks cool, but them I find a lot of old things cool looking.

It's hilarious to watch, actually.

And not having seen almost any of the 80s movies you're all mentioning, I have no idea what I'd think of an 80s TF game.

I still like making up different answers to riddles that already have an answer, but I still can't think up a better answer to "Ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?"
"Yeah. And considering he's had an eternity to practice, I thought he'd be better."

Well, we know for a fact that Celestia raises and lowers the sun. For all we know, she controls parts of Equestria that ponies live and give them jobs!
I'm partial to the WMG that Ponyplanet used to have natural weather cycles and seasons, but they were completely destroyed by Discord. So the ponies had to take control of them after Discord was sealed away. The Everfree forest is the one portion of Equestria that was free of Discord's rule.

I've got Python and I'm not afraid to use it.

[up][up]My personal take on it is that weather would still happen on it's own, but the ponies control it to avoid stuff like floods or droughts.

The 80's scout could use a big automatic shotgun like the SPAS=12.

And be like Eddie Murphy...just because. tongue

My take on it is that the Everfree was where Nightmare Moon and Celestia fought, the titanic amounts of magic used in that fight destabilised the entire region and made it what it is now.

That would seem to be supported by the old ruined castle the dormant Elements of Harmony were kept in.

I wonder if there are any other areas like the Everfree. Ponies can't be everywhere after all.

Yeah, the capital presumably moved to Canterlot after Nightmare Moon was banished. I still like to think the Luna lives in the Ancient Castle since it's more familiar to her than Canterlot Castle.

I read an interesting theory once where Celestia basically moved to a mountain in self imposed exile after the incident and ponies followed and built Canterlot around her so they could still have her guidance.
