If Whedon was in charge, the whole show would basically be Pony POV Series: The TV Show.

Everypony would be a snarky asshole and/or a teenage filly with action traits because Joss can only write two types of characters. The show would become massively overrated and then get cancelled after ten episodes.

That felt good.

You know that Whedon has done more than Firefly, right?

I've heard it said that the Cutie Mark Crusaders need to be made more distinctive against each other. I can't deny that they seem to be interchangeable at times.

Here's an idea: how about trying to apply The Three Faces of Eve on the CMC? I'm pretty sure that Apple Bloom is generally the Child of the group, if her behaviour in "The Cutie Pox" was anything to go by. Sweetie Belle seems to be the Mother of the group, because she mediated the argument between AB and Scootaloo in "The Stare Master", didn't she? Which means...Scootaloo would have to be made the Seductress in that trio! I know Scooty hasn't exhibited any behaviour to that effect, but if she got some episodes devoted to her, maybe we'll see that happen! evil grin

Dollhouse got cancelled prematurely, didn't it?

Ten episodes was me exaggerating. I have a habit of doing that.

It had two full seasons. That's not necessarily cancelled prematurely.

Hey everypony! I was gonna record another cover of September now that I have a better mic, but I recorded the first verse, listened, and was completely off-key >_< . Oh well, maybe later

It only had 26 episodes according to its trope page.

Firefly only had two kinds of characters? Really?

I mean, I'm not a huge fan of his work, but considering that the closest thing he's had to a flop turned out to be a cult classic anyway, I'm inclined to give the man some respect. You have to be doing something right to attract that many fans.

I notice that Sereg didn't give Rainbow a type of villainy.

Clearly this must be because she'd be the hero.

Joss Whedon seems like a nice man. I have nothing against the man himself, it's just his work that annoys me to no end.
The Eleventh Doctor is cool.

The only way I'd see Rainbow Dash as a supervillain is if she was one of those self-obsessed, highly destructive "heroes" that only cause trouble, more of a rival to the hero than an actual villain.

I've never seen any of Joss Whedon's shows. My only exposure to his writing was the Avengers movie, and I liked that.

[up]She may end up as one of those "fallen hero" type villains except less tragic.

Oops! But yeah...Rainbow isn't really easy to spin into a supervillian. Um...maybe if she went around murdering those more skilled than her or something.

EDIT: Actually, what Bluespade said is much better.

@Purple Dalek: Okay, I'll bite because this is causing me to wrack my brain. Assuming you've seen Firefly, how do you divide the characters into "two types of characters?" That is such a completely ridiculous concept to me, unless you divided it into something as broad as Heroes and Villains, and even that would fail, considering most of the cast are Anti Villains.

My Little Villains: Evil is Magic: For Twilight I would play up her neurotic obsession with order and planning. Make her a Clock King of sorts.
