There's pretty much no way you're not getting hooked if you enjoyed the pilot. It doesn't always leave the best impression in everypony.

Hmm... Sort of like Homestuck, come to think of it.

^ That's pretty much how I felt after the pilot. Then I got to the better episodes and I was hooked.

Argh. No pony tomorrow. It fills me with sorrow. But I suppose life goes on...

Think of it this way: It just means that next week's episode will be all the better. Not that'll it'll need much to sweeten it, since it looks like a Fluttershy episode.

HUZZAH!

I wonder if Spartacus will be in it...

Incidentally, I'm trying to convince my 11-year-old sister to watch tomorrow's rerun with me.

You aren't going to "convince" her Clockwork Orange style, are you?

So... WTF? Where did these goddamned ponies come from and how the hell did they get so popular? What is with you people? It's like I'm the only person on the internet who doesn't want to bone a diminutive talking horse isn't obsessed with these things. Seriously, WTF?

Eyup, haven't heard that rant before, no sir.

Seriously, what is with everyone coming here and ranting about how ponies have gotten popular?
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.

Because it's a stupid fad. Well, excuse me for not liking ponies.

Oh man, another one of you guys? We get one of you like, every 20 pages or so.

Okay, so let's start at the beginning? Have you watched the show? Or are you among the 'there's no way this could be good and must be some massive coordinated troll' camp?

I'm all right with someone not liking the show, and I'm perfectly fine with someone wondering why people do like it. But, if you are going to criticize something, or someone for liking it, you could at least have the courtesy to see the show first. You might find it surprising. At the very least, you find yourself better equipped to criticize.

I never said I didn't like it, I'm just curious. That, and I have a penchant for overacting and pretending to be angry over everything.

You must be new here.

Well sorry for not having an internet exaggerometer. It would help if there were more of an obvious hint that you're just trolling. (And I mean "trolling" in the not-actually-bad sense of the word.)

This is hilariously ironic coming from someone late to the pony party.

Anyway, if you think you can stand watching a less than great episode at first, start with the first one.

Otherwise if you're not sure you'll like it and want to be able to judge it more accurately, try one of the other episodes. I've heard Swarm of the Century is a good episode to get into it, but Bridle Gossip is one of the fan-favorites (mostly for that one scene though).

Personally, I'm partial to Over a Barrel, but that one's kind of a base breaker for some odd reason.

My personal favorites are "Sonic Rainboom", "Dragonshy", and "Suited for Success".

I think those first two probably lose some impact if you aren't familiar with the characters beforehand.

Suited for Success would have been one of my suggestions, but has a minor spoiler.

Well, I am fairly new, So I don't know which tropers are partial to coming in a messing around. But at any rate, I've always been a bit...reactive to narrow-mindedness, particularly given the first person I told about the show has proceeded to dodge any attempts to watch it, while continuing to poke fun at me. Meh.

Also, not trying to start anything, but you totally did say you didn't like it. Just sayin'.

I quite like Episode 20, myself, but it might not be the best place to start, since the conflict ball is pretty firmly grasped, I think. Really, I've always thought that the first two episodes were the best place to start - they might not have the same feel as the rest of the season, but in a character-based show context is very important, and the first two give the characters context, so when they act differently in later episodes, we understand that. Hence, why Sonic Rainboom and Dragonshy aren't the best to start on.
