No, it's freeware. Hasbro probably wouldn't bring down the hammer unless they felt their trademarks were being threatened, which this doesn't. This is basically free publicity.

Mane 6 even refuses to take donations, they're that dedicated to not getting slapped with a cease-and-desist.

I mean, the guys who are making that FIM dating sim are selling beta tester slots in exchange for donations. That's really kind of on the gray zone of legality with a fan-game.

Not really. He seems to enjoy it, Twilight is pretty good about making sure he's not overworked, and he seems to have a decent amount of time to himself. It's not like he's a slave or something.

Maybe, but if you see the humanized versions of them their relationship sudden comes across a bit weird.

Spike is roughly 8-13 at the most, while Twilight is about college age, say late teens early 20s.

Even if he is treated well it's seems highly inappropriate that she should have custody of a minor.

Spike's got an episode coming up anyway.

He feels like somewhere between brother, son, and apprentice. Really, the ambiguity of that relationship makes it interesting to think about, but in the long run, I'm not sure it matters. They're family.

Considering Spike is part of a species of hedonistic reptiles, he's probably made of tougher stuff than any pony would be at his age, and is more well suited to being a library assistant.

I'm sure Twilight cares for him, but she is a 'little pony'. It seems reckless of the princess to have twilight to rise him when she has been implied to been still fairly young and inexperienced her. But i guess it's just part of the Vague Age thing.

Where did the egg spike hatch from come from anyway, does season 2 cover it?

I've always put the mane cast's ages at around 20-ish or so. Spike is tougher; biologically he's a baby, but mentally he's probably a teenager.
