It's a big event.

We're not going to start a hate fire, Kerrah. Not here.

Eh, it did not really bother me.
The image was funny, and it's not like it took me a huge expenditure of energy to see the post and go "Superbowl? Ah, right, a baseball tournament or something".
But they seem to
know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.
There's no sense in making a big deal about this. It may not be a huge event elsewhere in the world, but it is in America. Since I'm guessing EQD is based in America, that's enough to justify the newspost.

More importantly, it is apparently a big event for the ones who manage EQD.
And really, they do a pretty nifty job at collecting fanfiction, funny pony-related things and links to youtube episodes.
That makes them cool in my book — and if sometimes they post stuff that is of interest to them but not to me, whatever, I'm not the boss of them...

Oh, they have the right to write about whatever they want. It's their site. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but it still annoys me. I think it lowers the general quality of the blog when it goes off-topic to talk about the admins' interests outside the preset focus of the site.
My bad. The only thing I vaguely remember about it is that apparently the commercials that run during it are also a big deal, although I don't exactly get why.
One thing that I'd like to see more in the show, however, is a bit more continuity. I get that it is episodic, but I think that a bit of an overarching plotline could make things more interesting in the long run...

You gotta admit that cheerleader Celestia was funny, though.

The commercials are a big deal because they put more money into making them (and airing them) than normal. They're known for being funny, artsy, or just plain entertaining. None of them really stood out to me this year.
Me, I'm not as big into the Superbowl as I used to be. But I really think the Cloudsdale Thunderbolts are going to field an excellent team this year. They got a lot of good speedsters, and I think they're really starting to come into their own as a team.

Thunderbowl 2012! In Cloudsdale!
Nah, the Griffons are going to tear them apart. Literally

Please! Those Griffons don't stand a chance!

Fan war imminent. Engage emergency blast shields.

The Griffons might be stronger team overall, but the Thunderbolts are gonna run circles around them.
The team I'm
really worried about are the Canterlot Sentinels. Ever since Celestia resigned as head coach, their performance has been slipping. Maybe Luna will take the reigns this year and get them back on their hooves.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.
I heard that Prince Blueblood was thinking of trying his hand at that role, perhaps in order to recover from the whole Gala debacle.
That would be interesting to see.

A-HA! I knew it!

Since the subject of the next episode is a love potion rather than natural falling in love, how bad could the ship wars be?
