Yeah that seems to be a bit of a thing. They repeated the chorus a few too many times. If this were a straight musical it would have worked, but when you only have 20 minutes I think they should have used that time for something else.

Yeah, I've noticed that out of the few songs in this season, the only one that didn't drag on was the one from Sweet and Elite. It's also the only song this season so far that I actully like.

Definatly the best song this season.
Anyway, I rewatched Party of one, and I noticed something. I get that the mane 5 were avoiding pinkie pie so that she wouldn't find out about the surprise party, but why the heck was ponyvile practicly empty? Besides the mane 6, spike, gummy and Ms. Cake, their was nopony else in the episode, no background ponys or anything. I know it's not something to think too much about, and that it's not really important, but still.
Plus, it kinda reminds me of Ed edd n eddy a little bit.

Probably just the matter of the rest of the ponies not really being all that important to the plot, so there was no real reason to put them in everywhere. Probably saved the animators a lot of work.

I figured that, it's just that this is the only episode I remember that had no extras whatsoever {Unless Ms. Cake counts}.

That was the best song this season, IMO.

I didn't think the song was too long. The plot advanced during it, so it wasn't "lost time" and I don't think it hurt the pacing of the episode.

To me, "Winter Wrap-Up" was always the episode that only existed as an excuse for the one musical number in it.
That song lasted three minutes, this lasted four, and yet, "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy" doesn't feel to me like it's all written around the song.
